I had to return the two-story ladder for a 3-story ladder because my windowsill depth was wider than the 2-story could accommodate. The EL52 First Alert Fire Escape Ladder user's manual says, "The window should be at least 20 inches (51 cm) wide and 32 inches (81 cm) high to give you enough clearance to exit safely. The windowsill width should be between a minimum of 6 inches (15 cm) and a maximum of 10 inches (25 cm). Measure windowsill from outside to inside." Be sure to get the right ladder for your windowsill depth.

Bug Off Instant Screen Review

(More customer reviews)I have a fenced-in back yard and three years ago, bought one of these to hang in the back door because I didn't want to cut a hole in walls or doors to install a permanent dog door. My idea, of course, was to give the dogs the freedom to come and go as they please, and to ease my role as doorman. From about April to October, the storm door and house door are open whenever practical, and the set-up has worked just as I had hoped. I get very few insects inside, and after some hesitation at first, the dogs are totally comfortable with it. The screen panels hang from an adjustable spring rod, and the magnets both weight it and close it every effectively. This year, after over two years of use, the dogs tore it a little, and I bought another to have in reserve, simply because it's ingenious and effective. As for human use, when my hands are full, I use an elbow or whatever I'm carrying to press against the center, and it opens fine, and closes behind me.

(More customer reviews)People, let me tell you that this product is a total joke. When I say joke, I mean that it's so useless, it made me laugh.
This alarm sounds like a toy. If you were to put it in your pocket, you would barely hear it. (which I did)
These products are louder by comparison:
1. a cell phone
2. a microwave oven beep
3. a washing machine (cycle finished beep)
4. most any alarm clocks
5. any commercial during TV if you have Dish Network
6. my ex-wifes snoring
Okay, you get the idea. I immediately RMAed mine and like always - Amazon took care of me.
Alternative suggestion: try the Doberman SE-101 ... if you can find it here (I bought 14)(SE-109 is NOT loud)

It is not like a sticker at all and it is very detailed and well painted. They say you can paint over it because it is so thin, but why would you want to? It looks really great and didn't take very long to rub onto my wall. I have textured walls and it took on the texture of my wall. I don't know of any other product that can do that. Love it!

3M 2144W Indoor Patio Door Insulator Kit Review

(More customer reviews)A huge sheet of plastic comes in this package. HUGE. You almost need two people just to handle it. Package comes with a roll of tape too. I've insulated my patio door and noticed the change. Even bought a thermometer to measure the change. This stuff works great.
The instructions are a bit...well...they could be better. Window tape goes around the patio door frame, the plastic is added, then the plastic is pressed against the tape. The theory is that the plastic and the tape make an air-tight seal and keep the cold drafts from entering your home.
One note: If your patio door doesn't have a space on the bottom for the tape, the instructions call for nailing a piece of wood to the floor and using that for the bottom. Not too sure about that idea. Check your patio door before ordering. All you need is a 1/2in space for the tape.

It sparkles, and the upstairs windows were so easy to wash and rinse. They did have a little spotting but not enough to matter. Saved so much time and expense. The soap is wonderful. I love this product.

(More customer reviews)As a word of advice, wear earplugs when testing this gadget! This thing is loud as hell. If this is not enough to deafen and scare a burglar away then I don't know what will. I hooked this up to every single door we have in the house. There is no friggin way someone can open a door (when armed) without me hearing it. Definitely alot better than paying a security company a monthly fee. I give this 6 stars.

(More customer reviews)This product was very cheap, very thin plastic. "framing strips" are cardboard, and very thin cardboard at that. This will not hold up if you have any kind of winter weather. It's a great idea, and I would have paid more for actual wooden strips, and thicker plastic.

M-D Building Products 2733 High Density Foam Tape, 3/16-by-3/8-Inch-by-17 feet, Closed Cell, White Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this to seal around my front door (of an apartment, so it's not exterior), mainly for sound-proofing. I like that it's white, and I couldn't find anything white in my local home improvement store. It's also inexpensive to try. I had originally tried a thicker (5/16") foam tape and had trouble getting it all the way around the door because the door wouldn't close. I found that this tape is the right thickness (3/16") to seal the space around my door. I could put it all the way around and still close the door easily. Since it makes contact and squishes a little all the way around it does a good job of sealing the door. I found the improvement in sound-proofing to be significant. Of course I still have the area between the door jamb and the bottom of the door to figure out. I haven't been as successful there. But, I definitely recommend this product. Just be sure to get the right thickness for your door.

Well, the glue edge is pretty much non-functional - we had to resort to duct tape. and they really darken the room a lot by blocking out all light around the unit. HOWEVER they do insulate well enough when installed properly.

I live over seas and all our windows have BLACK bars on them. The bars extend over the windows by about 3 inches and these brackets work over them! I have been looking for a product like this forever. I can now look at my windows and see past the bars because I can hang sheers under my heavier curtains. It really softens up the appearance of a room. These brackets make the layers so easy to do. In one easy step I can hang two curtains at once. There is no measuring for four brackets. Just two. The style and stability of this product has made me purchase more. I love the versatile color and the detail that makes them stand out. Simple design and yet so GORGEOUS! I can't say enough about these. So easy to use and practical. Love them.
