(More customer reviews)At first when I ordered this, I thought it was for longer pieces of work. It is actually for shorter pieces. This is an add on for the Bosch Digital Protractor. What this extension allows you to do is extend it just a little bit, or as much as you need, not off the end of the leg, but rather BACK OVER THE ELBOW OF THE UNIT, to measure the angle of something that may be only 3 or 4 inches in length. By extending it the short distance, getting the angle, then deducting it from 180 degrees you can get an accurate measurement. The instructions that come with it, show you a picture of someone who is outside,holding the protractor against a wall, and extending the extension backwards across the knee to get the slope measurement of an outside window sill plate.
Anyhow, it is an infrequently used item for your Bosch Digital Protractor, but it does come in handy for the shorter pieces, and for the price it is a worthwhile addition. Hope this was helpful.

Installation is pretty easy and can be done in a couple of hours. We got sent a box with a mix of white and sandstone colored pieces but after sending an email to customer service we were promptly sent the right pieces. Very impressed with the customer service of this company and even more impressed with the screen door. We have had our front door open everyday since installing. I have a one year old son so I also have a safety gate in the doorway so he won't try running through the screen which is working great and would recommend for both kids and pets.

(More customer reviews)I have just completed the instalation of my 10'X20' Garage. I am very pleased with the product, purchased because a friend has had one for over 10 years and replaced the cover only once due to a branch falling through it during an ice storm.
I would like to offer one suggestion to buyers: go directly to Lowes and by 32, 31/2"X1/4" carriage bolts! The time you spend buying them will shorten your instalation time by 50%, as the 3" bolts that come with the unit give you only about 1/2 a thread to start the nut......this is nearly impossible if you are setting it up on anything but a perfectly level, hard surface as the parts will NOT go together tightly enough for you to get the nuts started. VERY FRUSTRATING!
This is not a permanent structure, and I don't have unrealistic expectations for it lasting too long, but if it lasts for 3 years I will have paid $8.00/month for three times as much storage place as renting a 8'X12' shed for $45-60/mo.
Watch the instalation video at the Shelter Logic website. It will help, but don't expect YOURS to go up that easily.
**Don't put the lower cross braces on early as directed in the instructions..it's a waste of time and has to be all taken apart again!

Two bucks is about all this tool is worth. It works, but the blade extension mechanism is fair at best and sometimes gets stuck, especially as the tool gets dirty. There isn't anything about this tool that distinguishes it from all the other cheap razor scrapers on the market. My advice is to buy a scraper locally and avoid shipping charges.

(More customer reviews)I had replaced my worn weatherstripping with a non magnetic type. Bad move... I purchased this weatherstripping and installed it in just a couple of minutes. It was a cold, windy day, and I could immediately measure the results. I used a smoke stick to detect drafts and found nothing.
The magnetic strip does seem weak, but you can't argue with the results. I'm assuming that the large surface area of the magnet helps to "bring it in".

If you get the next size, the elastic is still very tight - but now the cover is too big and looks awful. Maybe 4 strong hands are needed to get the thing on, which is absurd. Buy bubblewrap or save thin foam - and masking tape would probably be fine. AVOID THIS PRODUCT!

Watts Up? Pro ES AC Power Meter Review

(More customer reviews)(4.5 stars) The PRO ES power analyzer met all the advertising claims and, using a laptop, provides an excellent window in to the power consumption characteristics of household appliances. It is a moderately priced power analyzer that displays the basic power characteristics of whatever you plug into it. I am using it with Windows Vista Home Premium on a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop, so it should run even better on your Windows XP machine!
I haven't actually used the buttons on the front of the unit; the really cool stuff is found in the Watts UP USB and Watts Up Real Time software. Both applications sample power data at 1 second intervals for the appliance plugged into the PRO ES unit. Each sample is stored in a row of a spreadsheet within the Table tab of the application as it is received. The Graph tab provides a line graph of user-selected power measurements as described in Amazon's product description. Both allow access to the PRO ES's settings (sample rate, $/KWhr, etc.). Both applications stopped sampling after about 30 minutes, but I have not investigated the reason. Both provide good Help files which explain the unit's functions.
The Watts Up USB Data Logger application is available without charge from [....] . Due to Windows Vista Data Execution Prevention, I had to download it on a different computer an sneak it in the back door of my laptop (USB memory stick). What a country!
The optional $70 Watts Up Pro Datalogger application adds timers to the applications so you can take power measurements at a specified time or on a specified schedule. It also adds an alarm function, which can provide visible, audible, and email alert when any of the measured data (amps, volts, watts, etc.) rises above or dips below a specified threshold. There is no manual enclosed, but the Help is good as noted above.
The enclosed manual is brief (two 8.5"x11" pages). Accuracy is described as: "+/- 1.5% + 3 counts. Below 60 watts, amps and power factor accuracy degrades." The half-star deduction was for lack of technical documentation (circuit diagram, device fuse replacement, how calibration is maintained)
It does not measure harmonic distortion, so it will not help you diagnose power quality problems or impacts caused by harmonics introduced by the appliance being tested. It does claim to measure true RMS power without providing details. It also provides apparent power (VA) and power factor, so reactive power (VAR) can be calculated.
Here's some measurements:
"60W" Compact Fluorescent bulb: 12.5 Watts
"100W" Compact Fluorescent bulb: 22.4 Watts
Tivo: 10.5 watts in use, 5.5 watts standby
5-disc DVD carousel: 45 watts in use
32" JVC 1995 TV: 50 watts idle, 75 watts with blue screen, 75-105 watts in use. Power peaks during bright scenes, dips in dark scenes. Speaker volume doesn't make any measureable difference.
Clock radio: 5 watts idle, 7.5 watts listening to FM radio
1500W space heater: 21 watts fan only, 754 watts on Low, 1463 watts on Max.
The data can be stored to a tab-delimited .txt file and imported into Excel using the Text-to-Columns wizard. It can also be copied and pasted directly from either Watts Up application into Excel. The graph can be sent to a printer.
If you have some electrical training and you are curious about the actual power consumuption profile of devices up drawing up to 15A (1800W), this unit and your laptop will make a nice power analyzer. For me, it did everything I wanted with a simple data export function and good presentation.

Wear gloves when you use it, I pinched my hand the first few times I tried it. If you're on a budget and need to get a hole cut in your PC case it fits the bill.

In a time of when energy conservation is becoming a paramount, it's nice to know there is a way to light up your home and still conserve.

CHANGER INDUSTRIAL BULB Review

(More customer reviews)Just got this product and used it to change a recessed floodlight from our 15 foot high angled ceiling. Worked like a charm using the suction-cup attachment. No problems, and replacing the new light was only a bit trickier but with some trial and error and gentle manipulation was able to get the bulb into the socket and twist it in with no problem. The pole is lightweight but reasonably sturdy and stable though I wouldn't go flipping it around or torquing the thing. As long as you tighten down the telescoping pole and take things slow I can't see how this device wouldn't do what its supposed to do. Given that using a ladder for tall jobs in the home isn't practical, this pretty much pays for itself as you would have to get a professional to change the bulb in such situations. While one person could do the job handily, if the pole is fully telescoped it might make handling it difficult for some people and having a helper may be a benefit. Only down side I can see is that in some circumstances certain people might have difficulty with controlling the pole when fully extended or twisting the pole to unscrew the bulb (for those with muscle problems or arthritis, for instance.) In that situation an automated option like a remote controlled device to twist the bulb out might be a plus. Otherwise, I highly recommend. Also, the pole can be used for dusting, window washing, squeegee attachments, etc.
