Now on day 5 after application, still no cure. Its a real mess to remove. Its unconscionable that GE would keep such a poor product on the market, or that the retailers continue selling it!
And GE, don't tell me to look at the expiration date -- the labeling doesn't warn of that, and besides no other caulk I've ever used has this problem.

3M 2153DC-NA Caulk Remover Review

(More customer reviews)I had 20 year old latex caulk on a fiberglass tub/shower unit which remained after removing the shower doors; it was like concrete! This stuff worked lik a charm, but I had to leave it on for at least 24-36 hours (covered with plastic wrap) before I could scrape it off with a plastic scraper. And there was no damage to the fiberglass. I highly recommend it.

I'm sure this is a great calk as far as vinyl adhesive calks go, what with the mold-resistance. It bonds fine. It's very easy to work with. But vinyl adhesive calks are too brittle when cured if you have a joint that is at all flexible, for example a formica panel, or something that expands a lot with temperature changes.
This is common knowlege for some people, but producers should really indicate better on the labels what the calk is and is not good for, perhaps suggesting one of their other formulations.
If you need something that can flex, look for a pure vinyl or silicon calk. The former is easier to work with (stretches like mozzerella) but getting harder to find on shelves these days -- that does emit a LOT of fumes.
Ingredients of this calk: ethyline glycol, phthalate esters, n-butyle acetate, vinyl acetate, acetaldehyde, formaldehyde, ehtyl acrylate, acrylonitrile, acrylamide, crystalline silica -- you'll want to keep the room ventilated for weeks afterwards.

(More customer reviews)I live in MN and have an older house. One of the windows I have not replaced suddenly wouldn't close all the way no matter what I tried.
I used this stuff to caulk approx a 1/8in hole all the way around the window a couple of days ago (had ice on the window etc). It seems to have cured great despite the cold air and some melting ice water getting on it. The draft is sealed and the window isn't leaking air anymore....so far this stuff is working great.
If I could give it a 4.5 I would, it says clear but hazy is more like it (I gave it a 5 I'm certainly more worried about performance then looks), still great stuff and I'm impressed with it.
