(More customer reviews)I have installed a 10" and a 14" ODL tubular skylights in separate rooms in my home. I was generally pleased with the installation components and results. However the 14" produces a strong light and needed a convex diffuser to spread the light out more evenly than the flat one that came in the package. The convex diffuser was a definite improvement in doing that and is easily installed in a minute. (The ODL diffusers twist on and off - a great feature.) However, it does not have the rigid rim that the original had and is made of rather light plastic. The first one I received was cracked in shipping, but I contacted ODL and they promptly shipped another that came through intact.
In retrospect, I could have produced more even lighting under my 8 foot ceiling by spreading two 10" skylights instead of using the single 14" skylight, which produces about the same amount of light. A taller ceiling would have also produced more even lighting. The convex diffuser made an improvement however.
