(More customer reviews)My ClimbTek 16' articulated ladder has more than met my needs around my single story ranch. I shopped for a very long time before making up my mind to buy the ClimbTek and my patience has been rewarded with a rugged and dependable tool.
I added the Stand Off/Stabilizer this past summer when the decision was made to stain the house. This simple, but well made, accessory really helped out a lot.
It can be attached to the ladder on any rung as a stand off, making it useful at either 8', 12' or fully extended at 16'. (That would be 6', 9' or 12' for the shorter ladder.)
Attached at the "top" of the ladder it provides a much wider footprint to stabilize the ladder in any of the scaffold configurations.
Two uses in one, easy on and off - and it cleans up as easily as the ladder at the end of the work day. My only change was to switch out the provided wingnuts with large (threaded) nobs.
I can't work wingnuts in gloves up here and my ClimbTek is an around the year tool!

Little Giant 10111 Wing Span/Wall Standoff Review

(More customer reviews)I just used my Little Giant standoff today for the first time.As usual it is a well made product from Little Giant and its easy to put on but it does have its limits.It works well but if your working in a tight areas, this thing cannot be used.Little Giant should have made the arms "telescoping" so you could adjust the width.You can adjust the arms a bit but only by sliding the clamp left or right on the ladder step.This thing is about 4ft wide so you better check the width of the area your gonna be working on before you purchase this.
