(More customer reviews)I spent $800 on this unit and it does not expel anything close to cold air. It is more like a fan than air conditioner. The dealer exchanged the first unit. But the second unit also turned out to be useless. I called Friedrich and they told me to pay to have it serviced. Friedrich is a rip-off. They charge double what other, better manufacturers charge. My neighbor also had a problem with it.

(More customer reviews)By default I'm a skeptic. Especially when it comes to products I'm not familiar with. I'm not the type to just go out and buy something for the sake of buying it. I have to thoroughly research or contemplate why I'm spending my hard earned cash on the product that I'm purchasing. I didn't think I would NEED a fan let alone a nicer tower fan versus the conventional fans.
Let me just say that after decades of use of a conventional fan this tower fan is amazing. The airflow is superb and the design is excellent. I wasn't so sure about the height of the fan being at 42' but I've adjusted it to its lowest level so it's not too prominent in the living room. Sweeps the room very nicely and the timer is a perfect addition to the product. The product literally FEELS solid. I have to have a product that FEELS solid. It can't creak or anything that makes it feel like its cheaply made.
Impressed and happy with it.

(More customer reviews)IF (a big 'if') you can get the air conditioner out of its metal chassis to remove the styrofoam, then you are well on your way. It took me the better part of three hours over two days with my mother pulling one end and me pulling the drawer to get the inside of each A/C out. Finally, I just turned it upside down and shook it until the inside fell out onto the carpeting below. Once that was done, and the window ledge was sufficiently buttressed (I live in Brooklyn, NY, so the window is a bit far from the brickwork of these brownstones and you have to use bricks to support the chassis of the A/C - braces don't work), installation is a breeze.
The two A/Cs keeps the 3-bedroom apartment nice and cool, and breathing is much easier at night (I suffer from sleep apnea). I am glad I bought them. Have yet to get the electric bill...
