(More customer reviews)The best of the best as far as raised panel bit sets are concerned. The Quad cut system makes glass smooth single pass cuts. Take in concideration that I am using a 3-1/2 HP Milwaukee table mounted router. Be sure to watch the included video for a detailed set up instruction. The price for the bit set was average, but the free shipping made it worth it. The 97-204 set is for 3/4" panels and does leave the panel proud of the stile and rail heights. If you are looking for flush panel heights you can plane down your panels to 5/8" or get the bit set with the second cutter to do flush mount panels.

Red and white oak is no match for the sharpness of these bits. My one and a half horsepower shaper is enough power to turn the raised panel bit through oak with minimal drag. More power is better but less will do. The design of the bits prevents you from taking too much bite causing kickback and dangerous flying objects. The included instruction booklet provides step-by-step detailed instructions on constructing raised panel doors. I found this very helpful. The finished edges require no sanding and the fit, if time is taken for proper set up, is unmatched by competitors sets. I am currently replacing my entire bit collection with Freud products. Two words "they work".

This set includes 5 bits, a matched set of rail and style bits, a glue joint bit, a raised panel bit (99-512 instead of the one that reguraly comes with the set)Bits cut so smooth that you hardly have to sand. have used other name brand bits and the freud outperform the others 10 to 1. Great bits and very well made.

My only complaint is that the instructions don't make it clear where the shims go when you change the bits from exterior door (1 3/4")mode to interior door (1 3/8") mode. Building a door is quite a project and this bit set handles the task very well. Freud gives you a large flow chart and a DVD video of a couple of good ol' boys building a door, which except for the shim problem really helps to understand the process.

This bit does an excellent job and it even does a really nice job with radius sill nosing profiles. As soon as I get a trammel point for my router, I will use this router bit because my clients like how I do recessed curved shelves in their bathrooms.

(More customer reviews)I am replacing a window in the kitchen. The cabinets are cherry and I thought it would be nice to frame them with matching wood. I have a few old cherry boards that I milled using the Freud bit. I had to modify my router table and fence and made many practice cuts in pine, popular and finally with my cherry. The bit works great. The cut was smooth and nicely detailed. It took 3 passes to finish the cut.
