(More customer reviews)I couldn't find a window zipper at any of the hardware stores in my area. Amazon was the only place I could find it! It came quickly and was just the right tool for the job. Highly recommended for opening painted-shut windows, and probably useful for other projects too.
You can't see it very well in the photo, but the metal piece is attached to the handle at an angle, making it very easy to slip it into the space between the window and the frame. This is part of what gives this tool a huge advantage over using a putty knife or razor.
The tool does the work for you, so it doesn't require excessive force that might break or damage the window (or you!).
