I enjoy the overall look of the locks and after a couple of years they have held-up well.
My only complaint is that they don't seem to lock as tight as the typical sash lock. Because they grasp the outside sash from above and behind, instead of locking underneath, they don't feel as secure. Let's face it, if a burglar wants to get in, a simple sash lock is not going to stop them but still, the older style gives a little more protection. It's really a trade off, a better look for a little less protection. I'd recommend them for 2nd floor windows or in a neighborhood that is safer. (if there are any 'safe' neighborhoods left!)

White Tilt Window Latch Review

(More customer reviews)I ordered around $40 worth of these to replace all windows in our apartment. They're a combination of new and old, so I was concerned. However, they installed smoothly and tightly, and hold up quite well.
Given that they are plastic and will be exposed to a wide range in seasonal temperatures, I was again somewhat worried. But I have no reason to be after a full year has gone by after their installation. I also came to learn that they'll crack with overtightening or with extreme old age (like 30-40 years old!), so my belief is that their presence will outlast ours in the apartment. :)
They come in packs of two, and windows seem to require two latches each, so figure one pack per window (don't forget to check the upper windows for "hidden" latches, too!).
