(More customer reviews)This unit's material and construction look and feel cheap. The fans themselves actually work reasonably well. I can't tell if the unit would last because I couldn't get the expandable panels to stay expanded. Unlike other brands such as Holmes that use sliding clips or interlocking panels, Lasko uses screws which are supposed to tighten and hold the panels stretched. However, given the cheap material and shoddy construction, I couldn't tighten the screws enough to make the panels stay stretched to cover my window's width. This design is incredibly stupid. After trying again and again, screwing and unscrewing the panels, I couldn't do it and basically gave up. If your window's width is over 30'inches, save yourself money, frustration and grief and stay away from this product. If you have a narrow window, then this product might work for you. But before you go off and say "I have a narrow window and I'm ok", be warned that this fan looks cheap and boxy. For the same amount of money, buy Holmes. For me, this fan is basically a throw-away.
