I deliberated for a few years on how to try to winterize my screened in porch in the North Woods of Wisconsin. Living in Chicago, it's hard to take on a big project so far away, but I came across Warp Bros products, (which are made here in Chicago), and boy am I glad I did.
I have a 20x8 screened in porch up north, and wanted an easier way to keep the rain and snow out in the fall and winter, instead of covering the windows with the typical bunjee cords and tarpoulin. I did my research and purchased a case of the Warp Bros Flex-O-Channel, and a roll of the 25yardsx3feet Flex o Glass. It was an afternoon project, but considering the alternative, (buying storm windows), this was so much easier and cheaper. The flex o glass is crystal clear, goes up easy (if it's not windy out), is VERY durable, and snaps right into the flex o channel. Goes up easy, and comes down easy too, store away the flex o glass for the summer, then put it back up in the fall. Keeps the rain, snow, and whatever else out.
I was up north in early February, it was in the 40's during the day. After the sun beat down on my screen room for a few hours, the temperature in the screen room was 70, from about 3pm to almost 7:30! I'm not entirely sure what the flex o glass is derived from, but it keeps the cold out, and the heat in!
I love Warp bros products. Do the math, new windows...$1500......Do it yourself Warp Bros windows.....$200 bucks. No brainer.
