(More customer reviews)The amount of crud that was coming in to the house through my Windows was alarming. This was the first solution I tried. It does work well as a filter. The dirt does not come in. The down side is that the airflow is severly reduced. There is still some exchange of air but it is not very much.
I have larger windows and the largest of these is not sufficient. I split it into 2 parts and stacked them to get more coverage. My second trial solution, on a different window screen, was AllerTech® Vent Guard (16" X 60"), which is a roll of poly about 1/4" thick that I decided you can hand sew to the screen. Yep, I used just a needle and thread with simple stitches, in about 2 minutes. This second solution allows much more airflow and seems to filter all the solid matter. The AllerTech is in the dirtier airflow window and now it seems nothing comes in but the breeze.
