(More customer reviews)Our windows are very old and drafty and they need to be replaced soon. This is a great temporary solution to fill in all the cracks around the window frame until next spring when we replace all of our windows. We've had near freezing temperatures in the evenings already, and it does a great job eliminating the draft.
This stuff is kind of like of "Play-Dough". The only complaint I have is the when I try to unroll one cord at a time, it breaks off. I was trying to keep the installation as "clean" looking as possible, but that's difficult to do when you are using a "band-aid" solution like this.
UPDATE 12/22/10
Even after several weeks of very dry air (20-30%), this caulking cord is still as pliable as the day I opened the package.

I have a couple other, slightly larger, screens from other manufacturers and they are of markedly superior construction and they cost about half as much money. I only wish I could have found this size in another make.

Thermwell 84'X25'shrink Wind Film V8425 Window Shrink Kit Review

(More customer reviews)I have non-standard windows in my house (most windows are over 70 inches long), so the prepackaged heat shrink film would have been cost-prohibitive to install. This bulk shrink film allowed me to insulate my windows at approximately a 400% savings. It is a very inexpensive and effective alternative to installing new windows.
Installation is time consuming but straight forward. Results are excellent. No more cold drafts. Air temperature at floor level is dramatically warmer. I no longer need to worry about my toddler playing on the cold floor.
Also, I expect to see a significant reduction in my power bill because the heat pump no longer has to run consistently just to maintain the temperature.
Cons: very fragile easy to poke a hole in, must exercise extreme caution with blinds or shades
