(More customer reviews)Years ago you could buy cheap, stand-alone surge protectors for your modem. Those days are long gone and now they try to get you to buy expense equipment that *includes* the surge suppressor. I've blown out a lot of suppressors over the years and that is all I want, in the cheapest package possible.
While I don't need the AC filter features that this unit offers, this *is* the cheapest thing that fulfills my needs. Buy several at one time to reduce the shipping costs per unit and these units are a steal.

(More customer reviews)I bought 2 sets of Cyber Power 1090 surge protector because I had great experience with its UPS 800AVR units.
However, whenever I print anything on my Cannon MP830, my screen would wobble by very tiny amount. Its barely detectable but is definitely present. My 5-year old APC surge protector PER7 did not exhibit this problem.
This is not the same high quality build as CyberPower's UPS. If you want UPS I recommend CyberPower. If you want good surge protector with good line noise filtering then go with APC.

(More customer reviews)Not only do I use this model at home, but I insist my clients buy these in bulk and that every desk have one. These units have a combination of features that make them simply the best for PC's and networking equipment.
-They are easily wall mountable.
-They have 3 large AC block sockets. 2 of which are used for "always on" equipment.
-The off/on button is recessed. This is my favorite feature as it cannot be found on many other protectors. This prevents accidental turn off.
-The cord is plenty long.
-The plug is right angled.

Last year I had a major power surge at home that literally fried every surge protector that I had plugged in around the place (including 3 Isobars & a battery back-up/surge protector) the only electronics that survived were the ones that were plugged into the Isobars. Those Isobars were burned to a crisp inside, but they did the job when everything else failed to stop the surge from getting through to blow out the electronics that were plugged into them. I only use & recommend the Isobar brand now.

(More customer reviews)I mounted this power strip on my garage workbench. Six feet long with 24 outlets and integrated surge suppressor. This power strip is built like a brick telephone booth--outstanding quality. Easily mounted to the top of my workbench with three mounting clips.
Note that if you do mount a strip 'against the wall' leave at least one inch of clearance. There are many DC power supplies (cell phone chargers, drill chargers, etc.) that have a bulky transformer at the plug and will be wider than the strip.

This isn't the most powerful one I own (1,000 Joules protection is relatively good but not spectacular) but I'm not using it for delicate electronic equipment. I had an extension cord running from behind the couch so I could use that outlet for a fan and a couple of lamps. With the Tripp Lite TLP712 I don't have dangerous extension cords all over the place, I have use of that outlet and the things I plug into it are protected.
It does the job I bought it for just fine.

I just ordered one of these, and I thought I would pass along that this is the best surge protector APC offers with only 40v "let through" (most "good ones" are rated at 300V), also this one will "kill itself" if necessary to protect your equipment. Other protectors will loose their protection circuitry and keep your equipment connected. I have many stories from personal experience giving kudos to this company's products, but I gotta go.

Received everything I ordered online through AMAZON.COM from the Seller 365USA in excellent condition and packed very securely and showing care for efficient delivery. Received the shipment Dec. 17, 2009 via UPS so delivery was as expected, if not sooner. UPS drivers were hurried because of Christmas rush I'm sure. Items were as advertised and were in new condition still in original packaging. I would definitely recommend this item as a good BUY (at the price I paid-- may have went UP), even though there are many more expensive similar units on the market which offer a 'greater degree' of protection by number of Joules and Maximum Spike Current Amperage blocked from reaching your delicate electronics. (More customer reviews)This is a 5 star company that produces, possibly, the best surge protectors on the market today. I bought this unit for my work in South America (In Peru there are huge electrical fluctuations - I have seen a spike of 420 volt!).
With this Isobar, my computers always have been protected.
When I had a problem (I spilt coffee on the unit) the on/off light switch went out, but the surge protector continued. When I came back the USA and called about repairing it, the response was ... "don't worry, we will send you a new one this week." Wow! I expected a hassle, but I got excellent customer service. I would definitely buy another product from the company.
You pay more, but you truly get more. Highly recommended.
